I'm an Ass!

Laugh The Seriousness Off! (Ego takes itself to be so important)

By

How important and serious we can take ourselves to be at times!

Today’s message is very clear:

“Smile is a curve that makes a lot of things straight” ~Phyllis Diller

Humor is the antidote to spiritual seriousness, any kind of seriousness for that matter.

It puts us straight into the moment, have you thought about that? When we laugh, we don’t think about anything specific, it’s very liberating.

I invite you to laugh at your problems, all the drama in your life and see how ridiculous it is for just a moment :-)

Here we are (or, that is how it seems to the ego), in this huge, vast universe with our small mind-made dramas that most of the time only plays out in the mind!

This is a reminder to let go and lighten up. Enjoy life :-)

Lets laugh at the human pomposity, at our own thought-patterns, the human conditioning, the emotional drama, the inner story-making… laugh it all off! :-D

Laugh at all the seriousness of it all and see how the ego takes itself to be so very, very important!

Shake it off, laugh it off, dance it off, be silly and playful about it! :-)

Humor is the antidote to any seriousness in life, an invitation to return to simplicity and lightness of life!

And I don’t mean to laugh at someone, but to ourselves and the human silliness in a lighthearted way :-D

It frees you inside.

There’s a funny side of life too, we all need to be reminded of that sometimes don’t we :-)

Here’s a quote by Anthony de Mello who was a Jesuit priest that I really like, hope it makes you smile:

I’m going to write a book someday and the title will be ‘I’m an Ass, You’re an Ass’. That’s the most liberating, wonderful thing in the world, when you openly admit you’re an ass. It’s wonderful. When people tell me, “You’re wrong” I say, “What can you expect of an ass?”

~Anthony de Mello (“Awareness without evaluating everything”)
